My name is Rheanne Gerwing. I have just completed my final year of secondary education at the University of Regina, with a mathematics major and a social studies minor. I was born in Saskatoon, and after finishing high school, I attended Edwards School of Business at the University of Saskatchewan for two years. After a lot of thinking, I realized business was not for me because I strongly felt that I would make a great teacher. Soon after, I was accepted into the secondary education program at the University of Regina.
Math has always been my passion, and I love being in the presence of children and young adults learning. I am aware that many students struggle with mathematics, so my goal as a future math teacher is to make math interesting for my students.
In my spare time I enjoy playing volleyball and slo pitch, going to the lake, and spending time with my family and friends. I have been very fortunate to have such supportive family and friends throughout my journey towards becoming a teacher and I know I would not be where I am today without them.
